Variables in your CSS via PHP

There are a number of ways to use PHP with other web languages and technologies.  I myself use PHP in some of my JS scripts and sometimes even in CSS files.

While surfing the net I found someone asking for a way to create 'color variables'.  I commented outlining a way that this could be accomplished using PHP, but it was of coure garbled since I was using < and > in my comment.

Thankfully Bish found a tutorial on the net that said basically the same thing, but I thought I would write a little something up here as well, covering creating 'color constants' in your CSS, and more interesting, creating randomly generated paths for the backgrounds of DIV's.

Finally I can download tv shows

Not only was I right about the video iPod, but my goodness, you can buy tv shows from the Music Store now... my digital life is almost complete. Lets hope that the catalog of shows grows quickly.

And for those who are dying to see something, here are a few images of Jakob, his mother and some of the family that were gathered here with us for his birth.

Baby Davis update

Wow, what a whirlwind 24 hours this has been!

First things first, mother and baby are doing fine.  There were some very scary moments there, but in the end through the skill of our doctor, and the strength of my wife things turned out okay.

Now I know the question on everyones mind is what did we have, a boy or a girl?  Well at 2:10 October 5th (on her due date, w00t!) we had a beautiful, perfect, 7 pound 13 ounce, 20.5 inch bouncing baby boy!

I have no words to express what it feels like to have a child; to hold him in my arms and watch him sleep, stretch and discover his new world.  Life will never be the same again, and frankly I don't want it to be.

From Heather, myself and now little Jakob Michael, thanks for all your prayer, well-wishing and good thoughts.  They were very much felt and appreciated.

Heather is still in recovery from her c-section, so I won't be around the house much.  I hope to have pictures up on my flickr account today or tomorrow.  I will also write a longer missive that chronicles the roller coaster we went through to get little Jakob here.

See you soon.

Apparently its time

Our motley crew is about to pack into some cars and head off to the hospital to have this baby!

Heather's contractions are around 4 minutes apart, and they are steadily intensifying.  If you are the praying type, go for it; if not then good thoughts people, good thoughts.

I will see you all on the other side with pictures!
