Has to be pushed back a day or so, sorry about that. Some emergencies here at the palace of Sillyness have taken up all my time.
So yeah, I bet you didn't see this one coming. I am back with a new series on hacking WordPress. This time we are going to focus on WordPress MU. Fasten your safety belts people, it may be a bumpy ride.
So, while I have left behind WordPress in favor of Habari for my personal sites, I still use WP in some of my professional endeavors. I have found that WordPress MU specifically is a great platform to build on for a number of situations.
A great article about emerging theories that attempt to explain, in non-religious terms, the undeniable rightness of the universe. Some of my favorite parts are when Davies rattles off seemingly ludicrous explanations of quantum physics, beginning with the phrase "I don't think anyone would disagree...". Go check it out.
So I have access to one of those fancy iPod docks with the video out and IR reciever, so I thought I would see what functionality, if any, I could coax out of my iPhone.
Unfortunately I don't have any video on my phone at the moment, so I can't really test the video out, but I do know some things. Currently you can do the following:
Things that you currently cannot do:
I am really hoping that future updates to the iPhone software improve the interaction between the iPhone and an iPod dock with remote. One good bit of news is that I can rig up something for the iPhone in my car, and use an apple remote to interact with my music. Not having to take you eyes off the road++.
An interesting web desktop application that apes the MacOS. Could be interesting. Check it. There is also a Front Row like application that I presume, streams internet video content.
Take this favicon, please. You have no excuse now to not have one, look I did all the work for you. Just download it, rename it to favicon.ico and upload it to your server. Couldn't be easier. Seriously. You can see it in action on my Lifestream.
UPDATE: It seems it wasn't a software glitch, but a hardware one, since now the bottom 3rd of my screen doesn't work. Oi. Don't let someone with fingers twice as big as yours use your iPhone during the first week when the phone is learning how you type. It horks the software and the only way to fix it is to restore the phone. Which means of course, that I will have to reactivate it. Bah.
