That is Halo 3.
I am not sure if it is because this game is a mess of nonsense, or because I played Gears of War fist, or because I am just not a Halo fanboi, but I am really not enjoying this game.
It isn't anything specific, more of a general feeling of crappiness. The gameplay is pretty formulaic, and while the graphics are very well done they aren't the most stunning I have seen in a 360 game. I have yet to play any multiplayer matches which might help the game rise on the crappy meter... but I doubt it. I require kicking solo gameplay as well as great multiplayer to curry my favor.
So my console loving friends out there, I pose this question to you. Am I missing something here?
For those of you who are of the judeo-christian religious persuasion, I just wanted to wish you and you families a wonderful celebration filled with love, light and joy.
This year has been an especially great one for the Davis clan. Celebrating our 3rd Christmas with Jakob was amazing to being with, but this year was the first year he really got unwrapping presents.
I took eleventy-billion pictures of him opening his presents, I am such a loon. Hopefully I will be able to get some up on Flickr before we take off for Indiana.
I leave you with the words of the Nativity Troparion, in tone 4:
Your Nativity, O Christ our God,
Has shone to the world the Light of wisdom!
For by it, those who worshipped the stars,
Were taught by a Star to adore You,
The Sun of Righteousness,
And to know You, the Orient from on High.
O Lord, glory to You!
Enjoy yourselves, and be safe!
Today is our office Christmas party, held at Joseph-Beth Booksellers. One of my favorite things to do when I go into a bookshop is to head for the tech section and see if they carry my book.
JB is very good about getting books signed by the author, and each time I go in it seems like they have a new copy of the book, and weeeee! I get to sign it. Today was no exception.
There is something wonderful about going into a book store and seeing your name on the shelf; there is something magical about sitting down at a table and signing a copy of your book. I highly encourage it.
Oh and I got a book, an "I see dumb people" coffee mug, and an "Optimash Prime" Mr. Potato Head! Optimash Prime joins Darth Tater as guardians of my cubicle. A solemn responsibility.
8 years ago today, Heather and I stood in front of friends and family consenting to be joined as one for the rest of our lives.
Many things have changed since then: how we look, how we dress and where we live just to name a few. We are now three instead of two since the birth of our son Jakob. There is a lot more grey hair, and in my case a lot more weight. But with all these things that have changed, a couple of important things have stayed the same.
Heather is still the most beautiful woman in the world to me... and to you if you know what's good for you. We still lay in bed and laugh before retiring for the night. When I hold her I still feel complete in a way that transcends explanation.
Thank you for 8 years full of wonder, sorrow and joy. I can only imagine what the next 8 will bring.
Tis the season for perfection and frustration!
Yes it is time once again, for the Christmas Tree to go up at the Davis house and with it will come pain, suffering and very likely wailing and gnashing of teeth. Give the video a watch.
