I don’t know about “slayer of Photoshop”… I tried Pixelmator, but I wasn’t too impressed. My impression of it was a fancy MS Paint.

Right, that is why I said “hobbyists”. It is missing many of the features I need, but I use Photoshop professionally. If you just need to resize some photos, crop them and export them to web, this will suit your needs just fine.

Yet to see a good replacement for photoshop. It would be nice though, Photoshop takes up a nice chunk of my annual software budget.

I can’t see it slaying photoshop, or anything else anytime soon for that matter… It certainly looks like a very interesting piece of software though and with great potential i must add!
