SSWI — When in doubt, buff it out.

On this day in History,

8 years ago today, Heather and I stood in front of friends and family consenting to be joined as one for the rest of our lives.

Many things have changed since then: how we look, how we dress and where we live just to name a few. We are now three instead of two since the birth of our son Jakob. There is a lot more grey hair, and in my case a lot more weight. But with all these things that have changed, a couple of important things have stayed the same.

7 years ago today,

At 6:30 pm Heather consented to be my wife.

The past seven years have been hard, glorious, funny and sorrowful.  And I wouldn’t trade them for anything in the world.  I am a better, nicer more respectful person because of those years, and the world at least thanks you.

I am sure some of you are wondering where I am lately, and what I am up to.  Quite a few irons are in the fire currently, let me show you a couple of them.

On the book front

Watershed Moments,

UPDATE: Thanks everyone for your thoughtful comments. The good news: Jakob came through the surgery fine, and is recovering remarkably well.  The bad news: the procedure was only partially successful.  They are going to have to go back in and perform a similar procedure in another couple of months.

Its 4:50 in the morning and we are preparing to take our son Jakob Michael to the hospital for surgery.  I don’t have time to go into particulars, maybe once he is home and safe; it is enough to know that he is going to be put under completely, and the surgery should take an hour and a half.

Has been greatly exagerated.

Just wanted to drop a line and say yes I am still alive, and no Believe is not ready to go.  And yes Jakob rocks, but the little man takes alot of time, so forgive me for the lack of action.

Baby Davis update,

Wow, what a whirlwind 24 hours this has been!

First things first, mother and baby are doing fine.  There were some very scary moments there, but in the end through the skill of our doctor, and the strength of my wife things turned out okay.

Apparently its time,

Our motley crew is about to pack into some cars and head off to the hospital to have this baby!

Heather’s contractions are around 4 minutes apart, and they are steadily intensifying.  If you are the praying type, go for it; if not then good thoughts people, good thoughts.

Gotta role with the changes,

Written in Plano, TX on April 12, 2005 and tagged with and .

This past weekend, and the beginning of this week we moved my home office and started work on the Nursery.

Things are really starting to be real for me with the pregnancy.  Heather is starting to show and we are beginning to rearrange our lives, even our home to welcome this little life into our world.  Every day I get a little more excited.
