WicketPixie Released
The project that I worked with Matt Brett on last month has finally hit the interwebs. It was a rawking good time to work with Matt, and I think we are both pretty proud of what we produced for Chris Pirillo.
It was fun and odd, all at the same time, to be working with WordPress again. It has been over a year since I had done anything with it really; but you know what they say about bikes and remembering how to ride them!
Go check it out, the site looks great and has some pretty cool functionality to boot.
Long time, no blog.
Don’t you just hate it when life sneaks up on you and takes all your free time?
The last couple of weeks have been a whirlwind of work, family, church, more work and fun. Just a little fun in there to keep me from going insane.
I just finished a super fun project with one of my favorite designers, which has put me in a very good mood. I am pretty proud of the code I turned out, and it has given me an idea for a new tutorial for my WordPress friends out there.
Yeah, you know you love me.
Atom support in WordPress
Sam Ruby, Mr. RSS, pointed out that WordPress 2.3 ‘dexter’ has added “full atom 1.0 support, including the publishing protocol” which is a major accomplishment, trust me. We added Atom 1.0/APP support to Habari in November 2006 and it was a laborious task.
The spec is an ever shifting landscape and worse still, there aren’t many platforms that implement the protocol correctly. One thing that I noticed in Mr. Ruby’s article was that he played some kind of role in the WP implementation. We (being Habari) would love to have some recommendations on our Atom implementation. We are not silly enough to think we have it nailed perfectly.
So Mr. Ruby, you have the time to lend a hand to a young and impressionable open source project?
Pro WordPress Development
Or more correctly, the book it will become. After being asked again today when my book was coming out, I have decided to pull out the manuscript, dust it off and add a chapter or three about WP MU to it.
I am not sure when it will be published, or where really. I also don’t know how it will be distributed. What I do know is that it will be done, and you will be able to buy it.
Look, more work for Chris!
