Cape-Arcona
My original intention was to spotlight sites that linked to me, and you know return the love.
That is still my long range goal, but tonite I have run across a site so strikingly beautiful that I had to link to it.
My words are not sufficient to relay to you the breathtaking simplicity of form and design that work together so seamlessly to create the atmosphere of this site. My long time readers will know that I prize minimalism and clarity of design, and this site performs so well, that it honestly brings a flush of rouge to my face when I think of the piteous attempt I have made thus far.
In comparison my layout feels contrived and unwieldy. Only after recovering from the initial shock of this coup of design do you notice the typographical acumen employed by the designers. This is of course at once pleasing and obvious since they are in the business of typography; I would encourage you, gentle traveler to avail yourself of the free type faces there and consider purchasing one of the many affordable fonts for sale.
My only digs at this point are to function, not style. The heavy use of frames which impedes proper linking, if I link to the free fonts page, then you only get that frame, out of context of the site. And the strange behaviour of mouse-over events is troubling, blinking is BAD, but not enough to really detract from the experience for me.
