First day at the new job
Well today was my first day of employment at the Community Action Council.
What can I say; well first off my office is really groovy. Hardwood floors, two huge windows overlooking the front of the building, just incredible.
Second, as I write this for later posting it is 12:24 pm, and I have yet to do anything. My immediate supervisor is in the mandatory Monday meeting and hasn't emerged yet. Oh and the IT department here attempted to get my login and network privileges running, but have up to this point been largely unsuccessful. I think it has something to do with the fact that they are using a machine in my office that is clearly labeled as shipping with Winbloze 98SE, but the machine is actually running 95!
That one still doesn't make sense to me, taking a machine that ships with a new operating system that isn't all that bad, for a Microsuck product, and replacing it with a geriatric system like 95.
But anyway I am going to get back to waiting for work to do, and oh yes I really am excited about working here, they do a lot for the community in which I live in and it is nice to be a part of something like that.
As an addendum, I was able to start working around 2:00pm, and did I mention that this job rocks? I am going to be planning a press conference or two in the near future, as well as acting in a design capacity.
Oh and another thing, the organization that I work for had a website built in 1997 at the tune of $5,000.00, want to see what they got for thier money? Follow the above link, or if you are lazy click here.
