Project Update
Just thought I would post a quick update on my Media Manager Project.
Things are moving along slower than I would have liked, but my involvement in Shuttle and various other projects are sapping away my time. Speaking on Shuttle I thought I would take the time to update you my loyal readers on just what in the Sam Hill is happening with Shuttle.
Shuttle Update #1
At this point a lot of great work has been done. There has been a flurry of activity between Joen, Michael and khaled which has produced some solid revisioning of the admin area. One of the nice things with this is that Matt our fearless leader has joined the project as an "overseer" of sorts. What this does is give us the opportunity to influence more concretely the direction of the UI in the WordPress admin.
Now does this mean that Shuttle will become the new defacto WP admin UI? Of course not, but there is an exchange of ideas and that is when miracles happen. So fear not good people there is a lot of good hard work going on, on your behalf... should be exciting.
Media Center Update #1
Well not a whole lot to say here really. I have chosen a project name, so that is something at least. For the forseeable future this project will be called Red Curtain. I like the name, it reminds me of old movie theatre's, like those I saw whilst in Paris for my honeymoon.
On the code front I have laid down the foundation code for the Stage in Red Curtain, fullscreen abilities and such, and I am moving on to building the first mini application that will be performing on the Stage. I am thinking iTunes integration will be the first step, but it might also be vlc integration... I am not quite sure yet.
Once I have the first two Performers built and running, I will probably release a preview alpha for the brave to give a whirl. Hopefully in 2 - 4 weeks. But no promises people.
Okay, signing off.
