Well my wildest dreams have come true... sorta.

It seems that Apple has actually seen fit to update Safari periodically. Right now over at the Safari Downloads page, at the bottom you will see that this is version two of the public beta, and I quote:

So what is interesting is that Apple has not advertised this update anywhere, there isn't a "Safari Update, click here for more info" on their home page, and nothing about the update on the Safari homepage.

So I am not sure if this is a one time occurrence or if they plan to periodically release updates to the browser. I hope they do.
