What is in a name anyway? Well apparently a whole lot in the realm of Orthodoxy. My wife and I are to be recieved as catechumens during the Great Vespers service at St. Athanasius this Saturday.

Although not really important at this time, I will be given the option of taking a Saints name as my own. I am intrigued by this idea and have been researching. The customary process is to look to the saints associated with your birthday. Of all the saints listed for my B-day, the one to the left is the most "right-feeling", and for some reason that is important to me.

And besides another consideration is how the names sound together. I like Christopher Demetrius. Hmmmm... Just rolls off the tongue.

Well we'll have to wait and see what Father David says.
